More teens in America become pregnant and have multiple partners than anywhere else in the world.

1. One third of American teen girls will experience at least one pregnancy before the age of 20.
2. Approximately 820,000 American teen girls become pregnant and 29% end their pregnancy with an abortion.
3. Many teens who had abortions were using some form of birth control when they became pregnant.
4. More than 80% of single mothers under the age of 18 end up living in poverty.
5. Substance abuse, low self-esteem, poor parental relationships, fatigue, having an older boyfriend or girlfriend all increase your teen’s likelihood of participating in sexual activity.
